#2StatesNOW - Die Ausstellung

Der Open Call zur aktuellen Episode "#2StatesNOW" ist beendet. Insgesamt beteiligten sich international 259 Künstler am gemeinsamen Aufruf von Reiner Langer und der cubus kunsthalle duisburg. Über 300 Werke wurden eingesendet und wir sind überwältigt von dem regen Zuspruch, den das MailArt-Projekt fand.
Die Vorbereitungen für die geplante Ausstellung laufen auf Hochtouren und in der Zeit vom 01. Februar 2026 bis 15. März 2026 werden alle Einsendungen in der cubus kunsthalle duisburg der Öffentlichkeit präsentiert.
Die Eröffnung der Ausstellung findet am Sonntag, den 01. Februar 2026 um 15.00 Uhr in der cubus kunsthalle statt. Reiner Langer wird die Vernissage für eine eigene Performance nutzen. Die Laudatio hält Dr. Tagrid Yousef, Dinslaken. Für eine lyrische und musikalische Umrahmung sorgt der Bonner Liedermacher David P: Fischer.

#2StatesNOW - The Exhibition (english version)
The open call for the current episode “#2StatesNOW” has come to an end. A total of 259 artists from around the world participated in the joint call by Reiner Langer and the cubus kunsthalle duisburg. More than 300 works were submitted, and we are overwhelmed by the strong response the Mail Art project received.
Preparations for the planned exhibition are in full swing, and from February 1, 2026 to March 15, 2026, all submitted works will be presented to the public at the cubus kunsthalle duisburg.
The exhibition will open on Sunday, February 1, 2026 at 3:00 p.m. at the cubus kunsthalle. Reiner Langer will use the vernissage for his own performance. The laudatory speech will be given by Dr. Tagrid Yousef, Dinslaken. The lyrical and musical accompaniment will be provided by Bonn-based singer-songwriter David P. Fischer.

Im Rahmen meines Mailart-Projekts "Against war" wird "#2StatesNow" die wahrscheinlich letzte Episode darstellen.
Seit über 50 Jahren engagiere ich mich mit "Against war" gegen den Krieg, für Humanität und für den Frieden.
Mich schmerzt jeder Tag, an dem ich feststellen muss, dass dieses Engagement noch immer bitter nötig ist.
Neben den unzähligen Kriegsschauplätzen auf dieser Welt möchte ich mit "#2StatesNow" den Fokus auf Gaza richten.
Mit Unterstützung der "cubus kunsthalle, duisburg" und begleitet von "Stadt|Raum|Museum e.V." lade ich Euch liebe Freunde und Kollegen aus der ganzen Welt ein: Beteiligt euch mit euren Arbeiten am Projekt „Against War“!
Unsere Botschaft ist klar und unmissverständlich: Es ist höchste Zeit für eine Zwei-Staaten-Lösung – jetzt!
Dieser Aufruf beginnt JETZT im August 2025 – und er endet nicht, solange Gewalt und Krieg die Stimmen des Friedens zu übertönen drohen. Jede eingesandte Arbeit ist ein Zeichen gegen Zerstörung und Hass, ein Stück Hoffnung und Menschlichkeit.
Die eingehenden Werke werden im Januar 2026 in der cubus kunsthalle präsentiert – in einer eigenen, bewegenden Ausstellung, die der Welt zeigt: Kunst kann Brücken bauen, wo Politik versagt.

As part of my Mail Art project "Against War", "#2StatesNow" will likely represent its final episode.
For over 50 years, I have been committed through "Against War" to standing against war, for humanity, and for peace.
It pains me every single day to realize that this commitment is still as urgently needed as ever.
Alongside the countless war zones in this world, with "#2StatesNow" I want to place a particular focus on Gaza.
With the support of the cubus kunsthalle, Duisburg and accompanied by Stadt|Raum|Museum e.V., I warmly invite you – dear friends and colleagues from all over the world – to take part in the project "Against War" with your work!
Our message is clear and unmistakable: The time for a two-state solution is now!
This call begins NOW, in August 2025 – and it will not end as long as violence and war threaten to drown out the voices of peace. Every submitted work is a sign against destruction and hatred, a piece of hope and humanity.
The submitted works will be presented in January 2026 at the cubus kunsthalle – in a dedicated and moving exhibition that will show the world: Art can build bridges where politics fails.
There are no restrictions on format or technique. Please submit only original works, sent exclusively by post to the address above.
